  1. David’s relationship with his parents already wasn’t the best, and him finding out they didn’t tell him about his cancer did not help at all. Espeically since it was such a serious, his trust for his parents sank even more. I can see why they didn’t tell him at first, they believed he was going to die. They should’ve told him afterwards, when they knew he wasn’t dead.
David showed his displeasure by running away from his all-boys school multiple times, until he was kicked out. When he came back his school, he was very angry about not knowing and made sure they knew.

I didn’t expect the ending of the book, I felt like it was abruptly ended and that it should of kept going. The dream he had was very symbolic, about how he would never become like his family. I think the dream helped wrap up the book, without it the ending wouldn’t have made sense.

  2. David didn’t have the best relationship with his parents, after finding out that they didn’t tell him he had cancer made it worst. He was full of anger and couldn’t understand why his own parents would do such a thing. It also seemed as if David still forgive them, even though he was angry, he has such a big heart that he still with to go visit him mom in the hospital. I don’t think I would be able to do that, but it proves how strong, brave, and forgiving he is. Other things I found odd was that his mother was a lesbian. I really didn’t expect that. She wasn’t happy, she saw David as a mistake, and object that ruined and change her life complete. I can understand why she acted like that towards him. She was suffering and couldn’t do anything to change that. His father probably knew his wife was lesbian but didn’t want to accept it. He found happiness by drinking and smoking. I didn’t predict the book to end like that. I thought he was going to have a deep conversation with his mother, and she would then explain why she was like that towards him. I found it weird how at the end of the book he realize what his dream meant. I was so creepy, it’s like he was seeing the future in his dreams and he never realized it. There was irony and the book, which I liked. My first impression on the book complete changed at the middle of it. I would totally recommend this book. The author was so brave , he shared his life in a book that millions could read. You go to understand, feel , and think the way the author did. Which is a hard thing to do as a writer.
